How to attract more participants to your webinars (registration and engagement strategies)

You've put together a great webinar, useful content, a solid offer... but without participants, it will have little impact.

One of the biggest challenges for freelancers, coaches and trainers is attracting enough people to their sessions.

The good news is that there are concrete, easy-to-implement strategies for boosting registrations and engaging your audience all the way.

1. Create a clear and convincing registration page

Your registration page is your first conversion tool. It needs to answer these key questions:

  • Who is this webinar for?
  • What problem will it solve?
  • Why register now?

Add an engaging visual, clear bullet points, proof of credibility (number of customers, followers, feedback), and of course a simple registration form.

With Webismart.app, we create a conversion-optimized registration tunnel that can be customized in just a few clicks.

2. Use the power of social networks

Don't be content with a single post. Create a mini-campaign around your webinar:

  • 1 video teaser,
  • A series of posts on the issues you'll be tackling,
  • A countdown story,
  • Answers to questions live or in reels.

You can also encourage your existing audience to share the registration link (e.g. by offering a bonus).

Don't expect participants to sign up on their own, without any incentive. You MUST market this webinar.

3. Launch a targeted e-mail campaign

Your e-mail subscribers are often the most engaged. Plan a sequence of 3 to 5 e-mails:

  • Announcing the webinar,
  • Responding to a common objection,
  • Sharing a testimonial,
  • Recapping with a reminder of the link and date.

Add a sense of urgency (“27 places left”) or a bonus for those who register before a given date.

4. Test advertising (if your offer is monetized)

If your webinar is aimed at selling a paid offer, investing an advertising budget can pay off handsomely.

Target audiences similar to your current customers, use a simple visual and a message focused on the customer's problem, and link back to your optimized registration page.

We recommend Meta ads (Facebook and Instagram) for B2C / B2B webinars and Linkedin Ads for more corporate B2B webinars.

5. Get involved as soon as they register (to avoid wastage)

Once registered, your prospect must not forget you. Automate a sequence of e-mails with :

  • An engaging confirmation,
  • A reminder 24 hours before the event,
  • A teaser of the content (what they'll learn),
  • An e-mail 5 minutes before the event with the access link.
If you use webismart.app, by default we create a pre-webinar sequence of automated e-mails, which you can customize as required.

6. Create a scarcity effect

People act faster when they sense that an opportunity is temporary or limited. Indicate a limited number of places, or a bonus offer for the first 30 registrants.

On webismart.app, we allow you to display a countdown to the webinar, the number of places remaining or the number of registrants.

7. Use social proof

Add testimonials from former customers, or show that other participants have already signed up. Numbers reassure: “1,284 registered for the last edition” is more convincing than “sign up!” alone.

A webinar isn't filled at random. It's filled with a clear strategy, effective tools, and a healthy dose of authenticity.

With Webismart, you can create your webinars, manage registrations, automate your e-mails and track performance - all without technical skills.
